Agency Staff Trained by Communication Specialist

Y&R Johannesburg appointed Adrienne Verney to train select agency staff on effective communication and presentation.

Adrienne Verney is a producer, director, scriptwriter and corporate communication and training specialist. Her training methods include self-examination, positive mind use, voice training, authentic projection, building strong self-belief, and decoding EQ. She promotes self-awareness through extensive visuals, personal coaching with camera, audio/visual feedback and group audience feedback measure results and progress.

Y&R course kick-started with a one-on-one hour-long session, followed up with an intense two-day group workshop that pushed individuals out of their comfort zones, as each one of them learned to improvise and speak with confidence in front of an audience.

Individuals were filmed in their first session and again on the last day to compare improvements in self-confidence and ability to present using the tools taught in the two-day workshop. “In every single case, there was a marked improvement. Individuals showed a greater ability to organise their thoughts and speak with intent and consciousness,” commented Y&R’s HR Director, Tammy Lehnberg.

Adding to this feedback, Michelle Cavé, PR Director of Y&R said, “The workshop taught us so much more than effective presentation skills. A big part of presenting confidently is based self-esteem and we were exposed to tools that helped us build up our esteem and let go of any negative perceptions we use to sabotage ourselves in situations where we need to communicate or present effectively; either verbally or through body language”.

Adrienne repeatedly shared nuggets of knowledge throughout the workshop that hold value beyond communication skills. One such nugget was “As you think, so it will be” – a simple saying that holds so much power.
